Say Wha'?
This is impressive spin (see 4th paragraph). The more successful we are in our efforts to restore law and order in Iraq, the more unsuccessful we will be in stopping terrorist bombings against US/Iraqi/International targets. I'll let you let that sink in for a second.

I would like to see the Democrats use variations of this rhetoric against Bush on other policies. I'm sure Tom Tomorrow will have a version in cartoon form soon:
  • We have put more people in jail and executed more killers; as a result, we have more people committing capital offenses. That is how we know we are successful.
  • We have reduced taxes more than at any other time in the past two decades; as a result, we have a steadily rising unemployment rate and flatline economic growth. That is how we know we are successful.
  • We have relaxed the burdensome standards of the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts; as a result, our nation's factories are releasing more pollutants into the air and water than at any time in the past 15 years. That is how we know we are successful.

I may fill in more examples over time.
